My Pregnancy: 30 Weeks

How far along: 30 weeks

Total weight gain:  18 lbs.
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Slept pretty well this week.
Pregnancy symptoms: This past week I was really sore and uncomfortable. I'm having a little back pain, some heartburn here and there, a little nausea has returned and my pelvic area has felt like it would if you pulled your groin muscle. I know it's my body preparing for D-Day, but it's been making even light walking painful. Everything is shifting, my uterus is causing more pressure on my organs and making my muscles relax in such a way that they're feeling weak and achy. Hoping it doesn't get too much worse, since I still have about 10 weeks left!
Best moment of this week: Receiving some items for Greyson's room, and starting to get it put together more.
Movement: This little man likes to make his presence known! The last couple days it feels like he's laying sideways, stretching from both ends, which means I can feel him on both sides of my stomach. It's definitely an interesting feeling, and not as comfortable as his other movements. In fact, I think some of my recent nausea has been caused from so many of his rolls and pushes. I still love feeling my little "tumbler" in there, but there are definitely more uncomfortable moments than prior weeks!
Belly button in or out: A little of both. :)
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Mood: I had a few "emotional breakdown" moments, but for the most part I'm happy and calm. My hormones got the better of me those couple days, and I didn't like it one bit. I cried easily, felt overwhelmed and couldn't find a sense of peace. Glad I feel better now!

Upcoming appointments/events: I had an appt. with my midwife today. Greyson's heartbeat sounded so strong and fast. She said everything looks just fine and is progressing as normal. They gave me a band to wear to help lift my belly (to relieve some pressure) but I'm not sure it's going to do a great job. I'm going to try it this week and see if it helps some.

I spoke with her about the fact I want to do a water birth. Each doctor and midwife in the office I go to has been trained in water births, so I'm glad it won't depend on who's on call when I go to the hospital. The only thing at this point that could prohibit me from being able to have a water birth is if I have a really fast labor. I was in labor with Landon for 6 hours, so Grey could very well come faster than that. They need 45 minutes to set up the tub and fill it with water, and they won't start until I check in at the hospital, so we'll have to see how it goes. If anything, I would at least be able to labor in the bathtub until I have to start pushing. That's what I did with Landon and it worked out just fine, but a water birth would be my first choice. Hoping it works out!

  1. Wow -- a six hour labor for Landon?! Fingers crossed that maybe my first labor will be equally brief! Not that it's easy either way, of course :)

    1. Yes, I was shocked it only lasted 6 hours! I had fully anticipated at least 12-18 hours of labor my first time, since that's what I was told to expect. However, it was a nice birthday gift to be in labor a much shorter period of time, AND to have Landon come on my birthday. A good day indeed. :)
