Halloween 2012

Landon dressed up as G.I. Joe this year. My brother got him this adorable army outfit for his birthday, and it was perfect to wear on Halloween. Thanks Uncle Ryan! :)

We started the day off by going to Landon's toddler class, where he and the other kiddos dressed up in their costumes, played on the floor, ate a snack, made a craft, read books and sang songs. I love the interaction he's having on a weekly basis within a more structured environment. It's been great to see the kids learn to share and trade toys, and work with sensory play.

G.I. Joe needed a nap after class, so we headed home for several hours after that (and this mama sneaked a nap in too! Yay!).

In the early evening, we took Landon to meet a dear friend and her family for some trick-or-treating in a nice shopping center nearby. All the store associates were so nice, and I loved seeing all the costumes! One family was dressed up with the dad as a cow, their two sons as cowboys and the mom was Little Bo Peep- how creative! Landon didn't quite grasp the concept of getting free candy! Silly boy... I'll teach him how it's done! :) He was very timid when reaching for his treat, so we only snagged a couple pieces, but it was fun just walking around and enjoying the company of my friend and her son.

We headed to Red Robin for dinner afterward, and my soldier boy needed to bunk up for the night shortly after dinner. I'm looking forward to next year, when he can walk around and enjoy himself more. It'll be fun to let him pick out his own costume, and see him trick-or-treat all by himself!

Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!
