Start the new year off right.... time to o-r-g-a-n-i-z-e!

I have many poor traits, but organizational skills is not one of them. I love being organized and knowing where everything is. Now, let's not confuse the words "organized" and "cleanly". Although I love a clean house, I do tend to be a bit of a clutterbug... much to my dismay. I have a bad habit, especially now that I have a baby, of taking something out to work on it, and then taking my sweet time putting it away where it belongs. However, ask me where anything is in my house, and I'll find it for you. One of my many goals for 2012 is to de-clutter. I tend to hold on to things if I think I'll use it again, but this isn't always a wise move. My plan for this year is to change that and re-evaluate my organizational goals.

Ok ok... enough of me and what I do and don't do and want to do, etc... The reason for this post is to encourage everyone, even myself, to become more organized this year, and give you some tools to achieve that.

I've compiled a list of some of my favorite organizational websites, and want to share them with you. These websites offer great ideas on how to organize your life, your home, your office and more. They contain easy-to-do steps to achieve organization in multiple areas of your life.

Organized Home
What I love most about this website are the "checklists". Oh how I love checklists! There's something very fulfilling about making a list and checking each item off as I complete them. I've always kept to-do lists, and this is the same type of idea. Except the checklist ideas on this website are for so many topics! So... next time you're preparing for vacation, company or anything else that takes planning... check out this website and get some pointers on how to stay organized and efficient. Make a list. Check it off. Try it. You'll love it.

This website offers ideas on making the most of certain spaces in your home. Having a small space is no excuse to be unorganized. It leaves room for tapping into your creative side and making the most of the space you have. This website also has some fun posts on gadgets that might make your life easier. On the right side of the home page they list items and topics by category, to make browsing simplified. I love some of the ideas on here! Now if I just had the time to use them all!

And now for my favorite.....

Delightful Order
My love for this blog is nothing short of obsession. This blogger has the best ideas, and since I'm such a visual learner... I'm grateful for all the pics! She also has a tab on her blog called "Blog Parties" where she links to all kinds of other killer blogs. Head on over to her site and see for yourself. Caution: it's addicting.

Remember... looking at pictures of things you want to do or accomplish won't make it happen. You have to get off your butt, take action and make it happen for yourself! No one is going to do it for you. I'm speaking to myself here too.

Happy organizing! :)

P.S. I think my secret (not-so-secret anymore) dream job would be as a Professional Organizer. Ok... not so fun to sort through other peoples junk and potential hoarding habits, but definitely fun to help someone organize their home on their dollar. I don't think you understand how much I love to shop for home office supplies (I could live in Staples or Office Max), and walk through the home section of Target... the list goes on. Any takers? :)
